How do I add a Trusted Site in my browser?
Answer
If you are having trouble connecting to the "QuickSearch Library Resources" tool from within e-Racer, try lowering the security settings on your browser or click the "Ask A Question" tab to the right of the screen to contact us.
In e-Racer, using Internet Explorer, you may get the following message when connecting to "QuickSearch Library Resources":
It looks like browser security settings may have blocked this content. Please try a different browser, or lower your security settings.
If so, please add *.ebscohost.com as a Trusted Site in your browser using the following instructions:
If you use Internet Explorer:
- Log out of e-Racer
- Close then reopen Internet Explorer
- Click the icon that looks like a gear (usually in the top right of the screen) or click on "Tools."
- Choose "Internet Options."
- Select the "Security " tab.
- Choose the Trusted Sites section (green check mark icon).
- Click the Sites button.
- Uncheck "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone."
- In the "Add this website to the zone" box, type: *.ebscohost.com
- Do not precede *.ebscohost.com with any other information.
- Click the Add button
- Re-check the "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone" box if you prefer to have this setting.
- Close the Trusted Sites window.
- Click the Custom Level button in the Trusted Sites section of the Security tab
- Scroll down to "Display Mixed Content"
- Select Enable
- Click the OK button for the "Security Settings - Trusted Sites Zone" window
- If you get a Warning window, asking "Are you sure you want to change the settings for this zone?" click YES
- Click the "APPLY" button then the "OK" button in the Internet Options window
- Close then re-open Internet Explorer and navigate to e-Racer and to your course.
- This time when you click the "QuickSearch Library Resources" link in the LEFT column, you should no longer see the error message but be presented with the search box.
