How can I stop the ActiveX prompt in Internet Explorer?

Answer

On library pages, if you are using Internet Explorer and are getting the ActiveX prompt, you can stop this as follows:

  1. In the top toolbar of Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the screen until you see:Adobe PNG
  4. Checkmark the Allow active content to run in files on My Computer.
  5. Click Apply, then OK.
  6. Close, then re-open Internet Explorer.
  7. This allows the the tabs and content boxes to open/close as intended.
