What are the campus computing policies?

All persons using computers in the library are governed by ethical or moral standards of the university, as stated in the Student Handbook, Faculty Manual, and Administrative Staff Personnel Handbook. Below are frequently asked questions that are based on policies, rules, regulations, and examples found in the following documents:

Ethical and Moral Questions

  • Can I access off-campus Internet materials that violate the ethical or moral standards of the university? No (TLU Policy)
  • Can I use a computer or the university network to access, download, store or distribute pornographic materials? No (Student Handbook, p. 43)
  • Can I engage in computer activity that is abusive, profane or sexually, racially, or religiously offensive? No (TLU Policy)
